Minnesota crime survey

Since 1993, Minnesota Planning has conducted the Minnesota crime survey every three years. The survey is designed to measure perceptions and attitudes of crime as well as crime victimization and unreported crime. View any of the past crime survey publications or download survey data for analysis.

Downloading instructions

Files have been compressed into a self-extracting executable SPSS (.sav) format to decrease size. To download, click on the file name and designate a location for saving. Once complete, double click on the file name to automatically extract the compressed database file. If you encounter problems downloading the file, click the right mouse button and select the save option. 

Information on caveats and file design of each crime survey can be found in the readme.txt file, which is included in the download.

Download the Minnesota Crime Survey databases SPSS files with 1993, 1996 and 1999 survey results. SPSS version 9.0 or higher is needed to open the files.
