Medical Assistance (MA) is a federal/state-funded health care program for categorically and medically needy individuals. General Assistance Medical Care (GAMC) is a state-funded health care program for low-income individuals who do not qualify for MA. MinnesotaCare is a state and partially federal funded health program for Minnesotans who meet program guidelines.

Eligibility criteria:
Primarily low-income individuals, individuals with disabilities or individuals with many medical needs. Criteria are different for each program. Call your local human service agencies for more information on MA and GAMC. Call the Department of Human Services at 651/297-3862 for information on MinnesotaCare.
